This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada's 150th, a collaboration between Calgary Foundation, Community Foundations of Canada, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.
Antyx together with Boys and Girls Club (Forest Lawn and NE-The Lodge) will be working on a Mural Project in June called "The Beauty of This Land." This project is a Canada 150 funded piece and we will be accepting registration of both indigenous and non-indigenous youth to be involved in the mural making process. These youth will be mentored by Indigenous and non Indigenous Calgary Artists as well as Elders to have conversations about Canada, history of this land (pre and post colonial history), Treaty 7, reconciliation, the beauty of this area, and more. The murals will be installed on four tables with benches in the Forest Lawn Natural Playground. If you know of anyone who would like to attend, please let us know by June 2 at the latest. Lunch will be provided for camp.
