Introducing: Lauréat
Welcome our newest team member, Lauréat! He is joining the Antyx team as our Support & Co-Facilitator.
Lauréat Nkinzo is a Congolese-Canadian multimedia artist based in Calgary. Currently, His visual art takes the form of collaging, painting, and photography. Inspired by the fashion movement of the Democratic Republic of Congo, known as La Sape, his visual art is a radical experimentation of bringing different (often opposing) colours and textures together to create vibrant, yet cohesive art pieces.
Lauréat’s love for the community can be found both in his extensive background as a support worker and his passion for performance photography. When he’s not facilitating workshops or in the studio, he can be found in the middle of a dancefloor or concert capturing his own definition of performance art, the sweet spot where dance, music, and fashion intersect.
Lauréat considers himself a beneficiary of accessible youth programming, and he is excited to pay it forward in his new role as a Co-Facilitator at Antyx.
