Imagined Futures

Since the Fall of 2019, Antyx Community Arts has been collaborating with a group in Torbay, England called Doorstep Arts. Doorstep Arts, a youth theatre and social justice organization, also works with teens and does art for social change using theatre, dance, music and other performance styles. This collaboration entitled “Imagined Futures” project was funded by the New Conversations Fund from British Council, the High Commission of Canada in the UK, and Farnham Maltings with support from Arts Council England.

In March 2020, Stephanie and Alia flew to the UK to complete an exchange with DYT, a youth theatre and social justice organization based in Torbay.

Stephanie and Alia spent just over two weeks in the UK, starting with a week in London getting to know other organizations with a similar mandate, before training to the South Western Coastal region of England to participate in the many programs that are DYT, exploring what possibilities might exist in an intercontinental exchange, and what we can learn from each other.
