Holiday Greetings:

On behalf of everyone at Antyx Community Arts, I want to extend our best wishes for a healthy, safe and happy Holiday Season. Our hope is that everyone can find new creative ways to connect and celebrate together even if we are distanced from our loved ones and our communities.

Peace and love to all the amazing young people who have been part of our programs through this pandemic. Your resilience and creativity inspire us! Together we found ways to stay connected and support each other. You kept drawing, dancing, cooking, painting, writing, rapping and crafting through tough times. You used your talents to grow, support your friends and create art for your community. Let’s do more of this in ‘21 (hopefully in person ASAP)!

A standing ovation for our community partners and artists that worked along side us this year. You faced challenges that no one could foresee and supported young people and communities to meet their challenges in innovative, engaging ways. We look forward to supporting you and getting your support in the New Year!

To all our supporters: volunteers, donors, funders- THANK YOU!

Your gifts of time and resources allow us to do the work we do and let us know that we have support all around us. I am grateful for our Board Members who are sorting out this confusing time with us and crafting a new way forward. You are all our community of support and we send you our gratitude! We will celebrate together in the New Year!

I have too many words, so much respect and tons of love for the Antyx team that I am so fortunate to work with. You have met the challenges of this difficult year with compassion and creativity. I know the individual struggles you all faced and am so proud of how you took them on and moved through. You have provided great support to the young people we work with, supported each other at work and beyond and been there for me in so many ways! Thanks, Steph, Dwight, Noor, Bryan, Alia, Ashleigh and Cristina! I wish you all a bright, happy path forward.

Retirement Announcement:

As we approach the New Year, I want to let people know that I will be retiring in April 2021. I have many mixed feelings about leaving Antyx after 13 years but I know that my retirement creates an opportunity for Antyx to find new ideas and new ways to work. Next year will be filled with new challenges. We will be called on to find new ideas, new ways to make sure we can support the creativity and engagement of youth in the communities we serve. I will be happy to support Antyx in the future but I am most excited to see how our board, our team and our community meet our mission: Community Arts: Engaging, Empowering, Transforming for many years to come.

My wish is for you all to stay safe and healthy and find good ways to connect with your loved ones and community over the Holiday Season.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
