My name is Ashleigh Imbery and I am currently going into my fourth year of public relations at Mount Royal University. I am excited to be at Antyx for the summer and to work with youths who are passionate about art and incorporate the journey into my learning! I’ve previously volunteered with Antyx and loved the hands-on experience and opportunities it gave me. A fun fact about me is that stained glass is my favourite art medium to experiment with! In my free time I like to learn new things! So, with this newfound amount of spare time, I’ve learned how to cook new dishes, roller skate, make macramé hangers and even built a coffee table from scratch! I also like live shows and finding new places to eat with my friends!

Where would you choose to live if you had to leave this country?

If I had to leave Canada, I would choose to live in Australia! Mainly because I have close friends who live there, and who could say no to a year-round summer?

What’s your favourite family tradition?

My favourite family tradition would have to be setting up our Christmas tree every year. We always play a certain playlist that we all sing to, drink hot chocolate and enjoy the end result together.

If you were given the chance to go to the moon, would you go? Why or why not?

If I had the chance to go to the moon I would definitely go! That would be a once in a lifetime experience to see the earth from an entirely new perspective and to see how small we are in comparison to the universe.

If you could only eat five foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

The first food on my list is definitely sushi, there’s so much variety! Of course, I would choose pasta as well, seafood, tacos, pumpkin pie and eggs benedict!

How do you make yourself believe in yourself more?

When I slow down and realize that good things take time and life isn’t meant to be on a strict schedule it helps me understand that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, and I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.
